MICHIYO FUKUSHIMA
Michiyo Fukushima was born in New Delhi, India while her family was transferred by her father's company for 5 years. She always enjoyed doodling as a kid, loved art class in school. Her high-school art teacher suggested her taking private lesson from him and entering national high-school student competition. She painted 51 x 64" canvas with oil paint and she ended up winning the competition.
She studied photography at two year collage then became photographer working for magazines.
While she enjoyed photography, she felt it wasn't really fulfilling her passion for creation.
She decided to study abroad to broaden life experience. The art school she found was happened to be located in New York City. When she went to register class at the art school, the only class available was watercolor class.
It didn't take much time that she found herself falling in love with New York City and the watercolor medium....
